To Ry. from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to CJ. c. to Wer. c. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ✓ Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M30.9.22. [STAMP: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}] [STAMP: RECEIVED OCT 2 1922] "STORK" - EXHAUST SYSTEM. X3859 We send herewith N.scheme 2331 shewing the proposed exhaust system for the Stork, called for by the fitting of front wheel brakes. It is proposed to dispense with the forward exhaust box, and join the pipes from the upper expansion boxes by a trouser piece with a type of injector action, this trouser piece being constructed of sheet metal welded up. It is intended to fit a cutout of the Goshawk ll. type and details of the valve are shewn, but the control gear will follow. The upper expansion boxes are unaltered and it is not intended that anything on this arrangement should interfere with the exhaust heated throttle. It will of course be noticed that the rear silencer is modified to a considerable extent. We should be much obliged if you would take what prints you want, and return us the original, together with a print, as soon as possible. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
