BENTLEY III

1. A programme was produced by By as follows :-

1st car on road February 1938 with universal gearbox.

1st car on road May 1938, with lowered floor and simplified box.

2nd car - June 1938

3rd car - July 1938

1st car France - October 1938

Finalised car and Release Material - March 1939.

2. Radiator

A new design of louvres, or treatment of bonnet sides, is not yet available owing to pressure of other work.

3. Bodies for experimental chassis

A meeting is being arranged at Park Ward's Works on Thursday next to see a mock-up of a B.III car.

A drop head type of body was discussed in order that experience of this type should be gained prior to putting bodies in hand, and it was agreed that after the third B.III a body of this type could be put in hand.

4. B.50 Programme

A specification and programme were prepared by By as follows :-

Preliminary B.50 road test on B.50 frame fitted with B.3 Pieces April,1938

Same body mounted on B.50 chassis with :

(1) Small gearbox, no overdrive.
(2) Semi-floating rear axle.
