To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} x206 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}4/KW.9.6.36. Bentley Judders. If we reduce the inertia of the Bentley front brake adjustment mechanism by a sufficiently great amount, judders entirely disappear. We think we can in effect reduce the inertia by increasing the toggle shaft cam radius (this is lower on Bentley than on 20/25 HP. or Ph.III). Will you please make a pair of toggle shafts similar to GB.1827/8 but with cam radius increased to 0.5". To compensate for the change of leverage we want an equalizer/similar to G.53076 making 2.4" long. lever These parts are required urgently for test purposes. While you are making them we will take the standard axle off 5-B-IV and hand it to you to have them fitted. We will also make two small adaptors for fitting to the shoes so as to prevent the pull-off springs fouling the new toggle shafts. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/A.F.Martindale. | ||
