Please receive herewith E.CD.278 Torque Reaction Damper (Temporary Scheme) Bentley 111. This design is for use with the High Front Engine Mounting using engines with the arms and facings on the crankcase originally intended for use with the side engine supports. A number of the detail parts are the same as used for the Wraith 111. dampers. The friction loading for the damper will be determined by experiment, and may be varied by either shortening the length of the distance piece or if necessary for stress consideration, the thickness of the spring material should be increased. A later design to suit the altered fixing to crankcase for future cars will be supplied. Will you please detail and instruct the necessary details to the Experimental Department.
