Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} X8420 2.11.28. PHANTOM - RE. BRAKE SQUEAKS. X8420 / X4612 We have tried out numerous tests to overcome squeaks by the application of various dampings. We have arrived at a considerable improvement by making the damper sectors heavier i.e. .100" thicker. The improvement is such that whereas the squeak comes in at 20 m.p.h., it is reduced down to 10 m.p.h., the volume correspondingly. We should like to verify this improvement on other cars, therefore we enclose sketch shewing dimensions required for new damper sectors. We have tried a greater load by the spring on the present dampers but do not get the same improvement. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} sketch sent to BY.{R.W.
