BENTLEY - PISTONS.

We have recently added a note to the part list covering the piston on the above engine, pointing out that we must always refit the piston to the same drawing number as the one deleted when re-boring is necessary, and in no case must the tight fitting skirt type replace the looser fit.

The reasons for this are, we are having to plug the hole in the connecting rod originally arranged for purposes of wall lubrication when fitting the larger pump, and both the larger pump and the transverse hole are essential with a tight fitting skirt in order to prevent "scuffing" and "seizure", hence to be safe we must always replace existing pistons with new pistons having the same working clearances.
