We still continue to have trouble with the above leaking or the glass breaking when the chassis are on test. We have recently had two cases where the glass has been found cracked or broken, which has evidently only taken place just prior to the chassis being despatched, which points to the fact that this trouble may be taking place after the chassis are delivered. The experience we have had also appears to confirm your diagnosis as to the cause of this trouble. There does not seem to be anything definitely settled as yet in regard to the changing of the glass dome for a metal type, and as this failure is a feature which will cause a definite breakdown of the car, and put the customer in a hopeless position, in case it takes place on the road, we suggest that until such times as a definite cure of this trouble has been achieved a spare glass should be supplied to each car fitted with this type of filter.
