Rolls-Royce Ltd, DERBY Dear Mr. Robotham, With further reference to your letter of the 11th instant, concerning the finish on our needle valves, I have been carefully into this matter and have had two pieces of needle material turned up on different lathes and with a different tool. I am sending you these two samples, which are stamped "1" and "2" under separate cover, and shall feel much obliged if you would kindly have them micro-photographed, so that we can determine which is the best method. I should also be much obliged if you would give me your opinion as to which one you consider most satisfactory and whether a similar finish would be acceptable to you on production carburetters. Thanking you in anticipation of your kind co-operation, I remain, Yours sincerely, [Signature] TLT/GD. [Handwritten note at bottom right]: No. 1 best | ||
