X7370 4704 To DY.{F R Danby} from HDY.{William Hardy} HDY.{William Hardy}2/HP.21.2.34. c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Ss.{S. Smith} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} P.2. S.M. 2nd Gearbox. We send herewith N. Sch's 3985/6/7/8 which show the remainder of the details of the casing of this box. There will be extra facings and studs required to suit the central mounting of the gear and brake levers as required, for the L.H. car, which we will send as soon as possible. The layshaft slightly longer than previously shewn as the front end bearing is recessed into the cover in order to enable the large gear to be inserted without cutting away the lip of the bearing housing. We have still to show the filling plug and level stick which will probably be placed in the rear cover to suit metal floorboards as for the Bentley. HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
