[Signature] R GRY{Shadwell Grylls} SpectreCodename for Phantom III - Single Plate Clutch. Herewith are N.Sch's 4144 and 4146 shewing the single plate clutch for SpectreCodename for Phantom III, designed to replace the two-plate clutch now being tested, should it appear desirable to do so for any reason. The single plate clutch does not work out badly, in respect to either pedal pressure, pressure per square inch on surfaces, or inertia, but we want the release movement to be as small as possible. Based on the Long clutch information, we are reckoning on .060, but can do with a little more than this without getting into trouble. We understand the best means of initial engagement is still underconsideration so we have shewn the spring back plate, but other means can be provided without difficulty. We have shewn both a steel and an aluminium cover plate. The central part of the clutch is unchanged from the two plate arrangement. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
