Re Steam Hose. X.1347

Mr Hives.

We send herewith 5 samples of Hose marked with 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 notches at each end. Will you kindly test these for power to withstand steam, to be reported on as to whether any of these samples are better than that which we are at present using for the water connections of the radiator and of which Mr Royce has recently complained, referring particularly to that on 2301.

p. Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}

[Handwritten note:]
Before we can make any sort of test on the hose pipes we shall require a reasonable length of each. I suggest 12" or more.
