X2764 To BJ. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG24.9.24. X4432 X2764 WEAR ON 40/50 H.P. VALVE GUIDES. The new cylinder castings which have had to be made in connection with the enclosed 40/50 HP. valves, are at present being machined. We hope to have an engine fitted with these in about 14 days time. In the meantime, we have made very considerable progress in alleviating the troubles on the wear of valve guides by the recent standardisation of bronze guides in place of cast iron. Our tests show that the bronze guides will have two or three times the life of the cast iron guides which have been complained of. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
