40/50 HP. ENGINE WITH ENCLOSED VALVES. X.2764 X2565

We have run a 40/50 HP. engine fitted with cylinders which enable the valves to be completely enclosed.

We took the car fitted with these cylinders to WW. on our last visit. R.{Sir Henry Royce} did not comment upon the cylinders except that, as we should not now be ordering any further material for the 40/50 HP. engine, they would not be much use to us.

The engine with the enclosed valves was shewn to PN.{Mr Northey} when we were at Gerrards Cross.

We propose continuing tests with these cyls. in case it happens that further standard 40/50 HP. material is ordered.
