Gentlemen,

Glazing of Servo Linings.

With reference to your letter of Feb.16th inst.

We have found that we can often restore the efficiency of the servo by jacking up the rear wheels of the car, and running the engine under its own power, ironing out the servo linings by applying the brakes. Considerable care has to be taken that the servo is not overheated as the linings will not stand high temperature. However, a little work of this description frequently produces the required result.

If the efficiency cannot be restored by this means, we know of no alternative but to renew the linings.

It is our latest practice to block up the holes in the servo drum, as we have found that they are more likely to let Kerosene and other washing liquids in, than they are to let oil out.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
