(2) Faulty Thermometers.

The thermometers which have failed in the Test Dept., are to be specially examined by Messrs.Smiths so that such a recurrence is unlikely.

(3) A.T. Speedometers and Revolution Counters for Bensport chassis.

We pointed out to Mr.Buckland of the A.T.Co., (who was at Messrs.Smiths) that these instruments are much too heavy and, we consider, too expensive in comparison with the standard 20/25 and 40/50 instruments. They agreed with us that these instruments could be reduced in weight and possibly in price and Mr.Buckland is to produce a further set of instruments suitable for our chassis of a lightened type for our inspection and test. We queried with them the accuracy of the revolution indicators and we have insisted that these shall be dead accurate with a limit of 1 to 2% on the fast side.

(4) Fuse in Petrol Gauge Meter.

In accordance with our verbal request on the occasion of Mr.Manwaring's (of Messrs.Smiths) last visit to us, Messrs.Smiths had ready for our inspection a petrol gauge meter with a small cartridge type fuse incorporated. This fuse appeared to be quite satisfactory and we have asked them to complete the meter into a condition fit for production and submit the same to us for our final approval as soon as possible.

(5) Fuse in New Electric Clock.

Mr.Nichols of Messrs.Smiths is approaching the Electric Clock Manufacturers at Leicester with a view to ascertaining what can be done in this direction.
