Dear Sirs,

Chassis 7-EH.

Referring to your letter asking me my opinion of the new springs which you have recently put on my new car, I am afraid I cannot say that they are any better than the original ones which the car had when first delivered to me.
They are not so good as the intermediate ones as regards comfort on a good road, but, on the other hand, they do not go down on the buffers.
One of my reasons for buying a new Rolls this year was that I hoped the balloon tyres and hydraulic shock absorbers would be a great improvement on the old Silver Ghost type, but I am inclined to think that the springing of my old car was, if anything, better.

I presume that before you sent my car back this time, your Experts must have given it a test for the springs on the road and therefore they must realise that it is not first class.

Your Engines are no doubt the best in the world, and it is a great pity that your springing is not equally as good.

Perhaps you will adopt a new system, in which case I hope you will, if possible, convert my car to it.

I travel in a good many large cars of other makes during the year, and am nearly always struck by the superiority of their springing.

Yours faithfully,

(Sgd) Edward Greene.
