STEADMAN See me Pan HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Hdy.{William Hardy} Chassis Costs - 25/30 HP. and Bentley. Governor Control to Dampers. On the 25-30 HP. chassis we use a coiled copper pipe to bridge the gap between the chassis frame and the governor control unit, whereas on the Bentley we use a length of armoured flexible tubing costing 8/3d; the cost of the coiled copper pipe is only one shilling. Owing to the fact that the 25/30 HP engine is more flexibly mounted than the Bentley, one would suppose that the coiled copper pipe would function equally well on the Bentley, and we suggest it would be worth while to fit such a pipe on B-56-BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} which is at present completing a standardisation test. We think that for the purpose of the test the 25/30 HP. pieces could be fitted, which would of course include the steadying clip F.85420. Owing to the substantial saving which this will achieve, provided that the test is successful, we think it advisable for By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} to go as slowly as possible in ordering flexible pipes of the present Bentley type FB.1162. E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} Handwritten notes: Left side: FB1192 LOP.
