FRENCH TESTS.

Whoever signs instructions to the Fitting Shop takes the responsibility for the safety of parts fitted on 10,000 miles test cars. In the particular case of 6.B.IV:-

(1) The Pendulum Lever is an exactly similar hand forging to one which has already run 15,000 miles on 5.B.IV.

(2) The Girling front axle beam has no section weaker than the present front axle. The actual beam was Brinnel and crack tested. A separate test bar was put through all the physical tests, and is the same as a standard Rolls-Royce axle.

The Fitting Shop is obviously not in a position to say whether a part is safe or not. In the case of 6.B.IV, it appears that all precautions have been taken for the safety of the parts you question.
