-5- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Cr.{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester}4/MH.{M. Huckerby}30.8.38. Chassis Sheet Metal, Bumpers etc. S.S. weight 242 lbs. 6½ ozs. Bentley weight 253 lbs. 12½ ozs. The S.S. weight includes front wings and running boards, bonnet and front and rear bumpers. The Bentley weight includes front wings and running boards, bonnet, dashboard, and front bumper. Chassis Electrical. S.S. Weight 141 lbs. 6½ ozs. Bentley weight 154 lbs. 5⅝ ozs. The chief factor in the weight of the electrical system on both cars is the battery. The S.S. one weighs 72 lbs. 8 ozs. against 66 lbs. 14½ ozs. on the Bentley. The Bentley weight is brought up, however, by the fact that a battery box (12 lbs. 1 oz.) is used, also a main switch for the self-starter (2 lbs. 6 ozs.), neither of which are found on the S.S. Radiator. S.S. weight 59 lbs. 10¾ ozs. Bentley weight 75 lbs. 8 ozs. A larger matrix is used on the Bentley, also thermo-statically operated radiator shutters increase the weight considerably. Spare Wheel, Tools, Misc. parts. S.S. weight 103 lbs. 15½ ozs. Bentley weight 110 lbs. 4 ozs. Two outstanding weights that the Bentley has in the way of accessories, that are not found on the S.S.
