Referring to memo of 8th inst - I had already examined points 1, 2, 3, 5. - Points 4, 6, & 7 I have not yet had an opportunity, but I will as soon as I can - you must realise that for all it matters I am actually acting as a chauffeur to Sir P.M. who does all his driving & I am having a very hard time indeed single handed, with the Car on the roads all day & every day & working every night till 9 or 10 pm. to keep it going - I am not complaining - I understand that after our visit to Mr Royce, which will take place tomorrow & last for 2 or 3 days - I may have more opportunity to do some test work & up-keep in my own & then & only then I will be pleased to give you my considered opinion on the Car & carry out very carefully your instructions & extensive tests to the best of my ability - Up to now I can roughly say that the engine has not, so far, given a moment's anxiety. & I am convinced that with better carburation it will give better results - The brakes have required frequent adjustments, but on the whole have never left us in the lurch - Nothing else has given trouble - The Clutch springs given to me at Yares I found having same piece no. as the one in position & when fitted I could not disengage. I would have sooner broken the pedal & everything - I fitted the new springs with the distance washers & tomorrow I will watch results - The fittings of coachwork, such as hood, luggage grid, wind-screen, etc - are not up to much & give more trouble than all the rest -
I must close now as it is midnight & I am done in - I will write on Saturday if possible -
Yours faithfully
S. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Lauies -
N.P. Please excuse haste -
