4. 40 m.m. Gun & Beaufighter.
We can make but little progress with the installation until we receive a scheme, or even a project of the feed which it is proposed to use on this gun.

1. Tq.80 Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}W Gun - on Pedestal mounting
The general design which will be released on Monday next, we shall have completed all our outstanding designs up to date, the revised sector plate is being dealt with by V.E.
Like the gun action, that any future work we do should be confined to the mounting only. This is a definite Division line being the thrust ring.
We have supplied details and loads and that is the end of the Gun section so far as we make it. A further policy which has been pursued is to issue finished schemes - a policy which has created many serious sections for years.

2. Dash & Thorndyke lower mounting.
I.M.S & S.2 have had details which they are required to make with the exception of the brackets and accompanying parts. These will be issued in a few days.
Vickers has a list of parts which M.S & S.2 exercising us to produce and this should be given their list for each. M.S. & T.3 part they have to produce.
We have asked M.S. & S.2 for a list of when we receive this and look for a standard material we should give them an equivalent material from our stock.
A gun set that they are to receive on official order to carry out the work and it should be pointed out that at this stage they are merely producing parts. Naval Authorities need not be consulted.
They have been told that the assembly of the first unit will be carried out by M.S. & T.4 for us.

3. TYpe AA.{D. Abbot-Anderson}13.S m/m D.M.
We have transmitted to VE the general criticism of this gun in VE.S/LH.{Mr Haworth}F.8.OAC and cannot proceed further until we receive a revised gun.
