Re Car Programme.

Referring to my note re the question of whether we are to build more Phantoms or not, a suggestion has been made which seems worthy of serious consideration, and that is as follows.

Could we introduce the SpectreCodename for Phantom III engine in the Phantom chassis and so have the car available fairly early ?

The worst feature of the Phantom is its large 6-cylinder engine - the rest of the chassis is pretty good.

If we did this, it would be following much the same procedure as when we changed over from the Silver Ghost to P.I and then later to P.II.

Apart from the fact that it would apparently, so far as I can see, enable us to have something new to sell fairly quickly, it would also limit our risk to the engine, whereas the complete SpectreCodename for Phantom III chassis has so much new in it that one feels nervous of its being introduced in any sort of hurry.
