Examination of the exhaust valve guides reveal that these have been insufficiently relieved at the mouth. It is doubtful whether this would be the cause of the valve sticking trouble.
New guides which are correct to drawing have, however, been fitted.
With regard to the bonnet lock catches on the side strip, these have apparently been fitted by the coachbuilders as they were only secured to the side plate. Side strips have been removed and the catches correctly fitted.
In addition, the bonnet had been bearing heavily on the scuttle armature. This has been rectified.
