To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} 1263 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}2/JH.3.6.37. Subsequent to a report I have just issued to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} I have instructed the S.U.Company to fit only one layer of oil silk in between the two layers of G.5 material. Originally two layers were specified but on examination of the diaphragms which have completed 10,000 miles on 3-B-IV there is evidence of vapour or air becoming trapped between the two layers of oil silk and balooning out the G.5 this would tend to cause sticking. The oil silk is in excellent condition and shows no sign of porosity or fatigue and one layer should be adequate. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/J.B.Dixon. | ||
