We thank you for your TS/HTB/EK of 1st. inst., and must apologize for delay in replying owing to the writer being indisposed. We are posting to you six brown springs, with a slip of paper in each showing the poundage as shown on our machine, which averages almost 10% below 151 lbs. Of a considerable number we tested, the majority were below 140 lbs. We would be interested to know how these figures compare with those shown by your machine. Brown springs taken from new unused clutches usually show very little over 140 lbs., but black springs tested on the same machine are usually well up to their stated poundage.
