X5360 To Ox. From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. to War. c. to C. c. to L. c. to Dy.{F R Danby} c. to Pn.{Mr Northey} 20/25 HP. BRAKES. B.2 Series and C.2 Series 25 HP. have been instructed with AMR.2 brake lining. We attach herewith a report which led up to this. A Standardization sheet was issued 4.8.33. On the later series of material we have gone back to Ferodo Bonded Asbestos. At the present time about 120 25 HP. cars have been delivered with AMR.2 lining. We have asked J.L.R. to watch the 25 HP. cars and see whether there is any criticism as regards the brakes. We have considered scrapping the 200 sets of material but we think we require a little more evidence before we are justified in doing this. We attach also a report of a test we have made on a Bentley car. When we have fitted the Ferodo Bonded Asbestos it will be seen that we still suffer from inefficient brakes after the car has been washed but not to such an extent as we do with the AMR.2 lining.
