In the rough and finish grinding operations on the Crankshaft, the advantage of the hydraulic feed in to stop would be negatived by having to adjust the stop for each size or alternatively feed in the difference by hand.

It would also be necessary to increase slightly the setting up times on the turning of Crankshafts. In addition, extra gauges etc, would have to be provided for the several diameters.
