Rippletto Axle.
Taking engine torque = (2000 x 115) / (4 x 16.38)
= 1.115 lbs.in. BMEP. 115 lbs.sq.in.
1/2 shaft torque. = 3770 lbs.ins.
Axle Tube.
1. Static wheel load at tyre = 1085 lbs.
2. Static wheel load at bearing = 1035 lbs.
3. Wheel load at bearing under torque = 1225 lbs.
4. Spring pad load static = 940 lbs.
Stress in axle tube due to (3) = 10.420 lbs.sq.in.
1/2 shaft stresses.
Max Stress due to torque at 31/32" section = 49.200 lbs.sq.in.
Max combined bending and torsion stress = 26.900 lbs.sq.in.
