From the records we have kept of cars received at W. during the quarter ending Sept. 30th; the following are the 12 worst points :- Nature of Complaint. | No: of Cars. India Series. | Has a cure been found, or not? --- | --- | --- | --- Starter Motor failures from various causes. | 25 | 5 | For the chief cause of this complaint, no permanent cure has been found Brakes squeaking. | 11 | 3 | A 95% cure has been found on pre-India. On India chassis it is very small. Slipper Drive seizure. | 11 | 0 | A new oiling device has been introduced which we hope will prove a cure. So far effective. Corroded cyl. tubes. | 10 | 1 | Copper now used instead of steel which should cure the trouble. Clutch trunnion failures. | 7 | 0 | Improved method of fitting overcomes this. Steering wobbles. | 6 | 9 | Friction device now being fitted to pivots - this overcomes low speed wobbles. Rear axle thrust bearings. | 9 | 1 | A new design has been introduced which will overcome the trouble. Noisy engine gears. | 4 | 4 | No definitely permanent cure. Engine knocks )chiefly piston( | 3 | 4 | No definitely permanent cure. Springing uncomfortable when sprung to our specification. | 1 | 4 | It is impossible to make a specification which will suit everybody.
