ENGINEERS 64 VICTORIA STREET LONDON, S.W.1 TELEGRAMS: MORSENDUS, SOWEST, LONDON. 3rd January, 1935. Messrs. Rolls Royce, Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. West. Stelmar Fog and Anti-Dazzle Lamp. With further reference to our letter of the 11th ult., Mr. Tresilian has seen Major L.W. Cox in London today and we have invited him to spend a few minutes, if he can possibly do so, at our office to see a demonstration of the Stelmar Fog Lamp here. We quite realise that no demonstration can possibly give any real indication of the efficiency of the lamp in actual fog but it does illustrate the following:- (1). The intensity of the beam. (2). The divergent angle of the beam. (3). The entire elimination of all light over the horizontal line of the beam. (4). The general construction and method of mounting the lamp so as to get the best results in fog. Mr. Tresilian proposed to Mr. Cox that he should bring a lamp up to your Works at Derby next week and Mr. Tresilian, therefore, proposes to call at your Works with a lamp on Wednesday afternoon next, the 9th inst. As Mr. Tresilian may come up by car we cannot say definitely the exact time he will be at your Works, but if Wednesday is not suitable, he could make it Thursday or Friday. As Mr. Tresilian could stay over a few days in Derby, if necessary, we propose that you should fit the lamp on a chassis where it could be Handwritten text: x6116. WST | ||
