C O P Y. to DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} AXLE CONTROL. Twist of axle control. [Graph Y-axis: Deflection in thous. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.}] [Graph X-axis: lbs. load 'W'.] With reference to DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M25.S.27. We have carried out a test on the axle control as requested. The results were obtained on a complete car, one shock damper torque member being loaded. The movement of this arm with increasing load was then measured relative to the chassis. It will be observed that if the ball ends quarrel to the extent of 1/8", a load of about 300 lbs. is thrown on the ball ends. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} | ||
