To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} to OJ. C. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3642 Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}4/W2.1.25. Re Silencers. In reply to E2/M31.12.24, with the exception of the old 30HP. cars our experience is that the Silencers do not get choked. We do not include an operation when overhauling cars for cleaning Silencers, as it is not now found to be necessary. When we have had choked Silencers on the abovementioned old cars our method for clearing them was to make a drill with a long shank, and open out the holes. [Handwritten initial] Hm.{Capt. W.
