WRAITH CAR - 24.G.VI.

With regard to your verbal request for a list of the work carried out on this car during the time we have had it, we have done the following experiments:-

(1) We received the car from the Fitting Shop on 28.1.37., and had to spend a couple of days making it suitable for road running.

(2) A rear roll rod was fitted, and the necessary modifications to the P.III type rear axle centre case were carried out to prevent foul-ing of the rod.

(3) 25/30 rear engine mounting. This meant two days in the Fitting Shop.

(4) 25/30 Exhaust System was temporarily fitted.

(5) Half a day was spent on the skid pan to determine the behaviour of the front suspension with 7" tyres.

(6) The car was put on the dynamometer for gearbox testing, but had to go in the Fitting Shop for a seizure after a small amount of running. It then did 3 days endurance testing, after which parts were dismantled for inspection and the new side shaft fitted.

(7) Park Wards people spent a day or two correcting body faults.

(8) Tests with and without rubber shackles for tyre noise.

(9) The original exhaust system was refitted, and some time spent in improving it from the point of view of booms. It is preferable to the 25/30 assembly because of ground clearance.

(10) Yokes of the correct pivot lean were fitted. This took about three days.
