X2924 Sc15/E15.3.35 - 1 - Notes of Meeting held at Derby - 14th March 1935. PRESENT: Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} CHASSIS. SPECTRECodename for Phantom III. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} read his memo. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KW.11.3.35 re progress of the SpectreCodename for Phantom III and reviewed the present position. For reasons explained it was agreedthat the detailing work in connection with brake adjustments should have preference over the detailing of the work for the conventional type of front axle and springs but the latter is still regarded as urgent. The second car is completed and in use. The third chassis should be ready at the end of this month. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} tried the car and considered the springing to be considerably improved as compared with the last trial. Re Clutches, E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} undertook to look into the possibility of embodying the 100% Borg and Beck clutch in one or two of the remaining experimental cars to be built. Re Comparative Costs, as per the Minutes of the meeting held at Derby on the 18th February, Hyll/R18.2.35, the question of comparative costs of SpectreCodename for Phantom III and Phantom are being gone into fully. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} expressed the view that the feeling was that, as the result of investigations already made, the SpectreCodename for Phantom III would not cost more than the Phantom. | ||
