Notes of Meeting. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}15/E15.3.35 - 2 = PHANTOMS. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} raised the question of whether the experiment with packing, i;e.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} felt etc., had been carried out on a Phantom and, as it has not been done, he undertook to see that a Phantom car was sent to Park Ward's as soon as possible for this to be done by them under the direction of Wyman from Derby who is on this job generally for Park Ward's. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} also stressed the importance of explaining this matter to the Service Stations so that they can use it to overcome certain complaints in regard to noisy tappets and possibly also noisy axles etc., and it was agreed that Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} would undertake to show the Service Stations how to deal with this matter. BENTLEY. Re 5-B-IV. It is now expected that this car will be ready to go to France in a week or 10 days. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} referred to the altered appearance of the front with the centrally mounted radiator and it was agreed that the car should be brought to Conduit Street for Sales to see as soon as possible. As soon as the car is definitely going to France, Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} will revise the list of features as previously given. Re Dynamos - certain troubles have been experienced with the improved air-cooled dynamo as referred to in E.5/BP.27.2.35 but it is hoped to have one available so that it can follow the car and be fitted whilst it is out there. Re Supercharging the Bentley - the position is that we are waiting for the gears from America for the supercharged drive before the demonstration can be made. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} raised the question of the design work in hand for a Graham Paige type of supercharger for the Bentley. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} said that the work was done but was now waiting for him to look over and he said he would see that this was pushed along. | ||
