Rolls-Royce, Limited, DERBY. 12th October 1927. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Fowler-Clarke. With further reference to the 2 - Magnetos type E.R.6. Nos: 51 and 54 which you have returned to us to be brought up to date and to be modified in accordance with a specification of the performance laid down by your good selves. We very much regret that up to the time of writing we have been unable to re-despatch these machines to you, but we have encountered some difficulty in obtaining the utility value of 3 - micromhos at 500 r.p.m. specified by you, and we have for some little time past been trying various armature windings to obtain the desired results. The machines have now been built up again ready for a further test which we have reason to believe will be satisfactory upon this occasion, and we hope to be able to forward the machines to you in the course of the next few days. Assuring you of our best attention at all times. We are, Yours faithfully, JOSEPH LUCAS LIMITED. | ||
