- 3 - E.5/HP.28.9.33. x covering the domed front end of the front expansion box (11) Sec.5230. Exhaust Fittings. It is recommended that this section be held up until October 14th to enable some further investigation to be carried out before making the final decision. It is further recommended that all parts lagged should be in staybrite otherwise the silencer will not last the requisite period in service. x It is proposed to cut off the lagging as this is considered unnecessary. GEH's car will be altered immediately in respect to the last named item and an experimental silencer will be put in hand with the lagged parts altered to staybrite. (12) Sec.5232. Exhaust Cutout. It is recommended that this be held up in conjunction with the exhaust system. (13) Sec.5250 Radiator. 5251 Radiator Shutters. It is recommended that we go ahead with this section but with the modifications for increasing the strength of the studs on the upper ends of the centre point mounting, and for increasing the clearance hole through the brackets for clearing this stud. It should also be instructed that we use springs instead of rubbers for locating the radiator. (14) Sec. 5260 Bonnet. It is recommended that we go ahead with the modified bonnet having the top hinge arranged for extra stiffness - LeC. 3615 This is fitted to the 10,000 mile test car. Regarding the louvres, these should be arranged to avoid the intermediate lengths of louvre and should be as shown on LeC.3657. The instructions should include the modification for the 1 1/2" shorter bonnet. (15) Sec. 6000. Flywheel and Clutch. It is recommended that we go ahead with the 12 bolt attachment of the flywheel. (16) Sec. 5270. Starting Handle. This section can be released with the radiator. | ||
