X75. To EJJ. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. c. Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.4/KT.19.12.31. NEW CRYPTO MOTOR IN EXPL. DEPT. The men in the expl. shop have experienced difficulty with the new Crypto motor recently obtained from the Crypto Electrical Co. We have examined this motor and from external observation it appears that it differs from the other motor we have, in that it is a compound interpolar motor whereas the old one is a shunt interpolar motor. A compound motor is useless for the type of work the mbtor is required, so that it appears as if a mistake has been made by the makers. Will you kindly ascertain this from the makers, and if it is the case that we have got hold of the wrong type of motor, arrange for its return to the makers, as urgently as possible.
