PHANTOM III. STARTING HANDLES.

Regarding the introduction of the modified Phantom III. One Piece Starting Handle inside the Bumpers to Lec.5610 it has been ascertained that all material for the existing type Bumper is in operation for the whole of 'D' Series. It will not, therefore, be economical to introduce the modification until the first Chassis in 'E' series.

The Factory Cost for producing the existing type of handle, including Crankcase Steadying Bracket and Spring Drive Hub is £2.0.8d. and the estimated cost of the new type is £1.1.2d. each including Spring Drive Hub, showing a saving of 19/6d. per chassis.

A set of suitable mounting clips for carrying the handle on the Bonnet side Strap has been produced by LA.{L. A. Archer} and passed to EX. so that a scheme may be prepared. It is anticipated that these clips will cost 2/- including fitting which reduces the total saving to 17/6d. per chassis.
