Faulty oil lip type lubricators on the steering column, which are easily damaged, and a suggestion for a smaller replacement.

RE. FAULTY LUBRICATORS ON STEERING COLUMN.

The present lubricator used on the above is not at all satisfactory.
I do not know what type is definitely instructed, but the type now used is of the oil lip type, and our experience with these, both on test and in the hands of customers, is that they invariably become damaged owing to catching one's coat.
We do not think this is the most suitable lubricator, and we think a smaller type with a revolving top could be used to advantage. We suggest the R.L1 type.
This complaint has been confirmed by our Repair and Inspection Depts.
