Swindell}2/AP.10.5.37 Ph.III.No.13. UNIT. Continue with tests as previous memo and additionally:- (1) Valve bounce to be checked with Rs.{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}500 valve springs as fitted. (2) Run power curve with exhaust silencer, checking back pressure in manifold. Take ignition advance curve (min. for max.power) also advance to cut out detonation and what power loss does this mean.? Above with Shell and std. Ph.III. plugs FLB.30.X. Depot people are coming on Monday to observe the valve gear, will you therefore make the exhaust system as good as possible for quietness.
