Referring to Sr/VA.1/GM.11.1.38. I must in the first place compliment you and your staff for a very ingenious method of overcoming a very serious fault.
I see no reason why your repair should not stand up indefinitely.
I am of the opinion the cracking of the casting was the result of forcing the studs too far home where the last thread runs out and will warn the Works that they must not over-drive the studs.
