| To Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} BENTLEY STEERING BOXES. Re Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Ms.10/P.1.2.37, suggesting that we should change from Dixtampo to Malleable Iron on the Bentley steering box. This change would result in an increased labour and overheads charge of 8/- per chassis, due to increased difficulty of machining and increased time required for trimming sand castings as compared with stampings. The change to Malleable Iron would, therefore, involve a loss of at least 4/- per chassis. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} | ||
