- 2 - at the Park Ward scheme as being an improvement on that adopted by Hooper's. 6). The sharp edges should be reduced to the sides of the back seat. These, we think, should be nicely rounded off and if possible, padded. If we adhere to this general design of body for the time being, I believe it would be an improvement to round off the bottom sides of the bulbous back. 7). The side brake lever should go 1" further forward, as at present when in 3rd speed, ones hand comes up against it. 8). The bulb horn cannot be used with any degree of ease in the position in which it is fixed on this car. 9). The side lights are said to give too bright a light at the back and they should be also be set vertical on the wings, as at present they are slanting over towards the outside of the car. 10). Just as I was coming away from the car, I had a look at the front view and am of the opinion that the crooked headlamp brackets, which have been bent so as to bring them lamps nearer together, entirely mars the otherwise beautiful front appearance and is in direct contrast to the straight lines of our radiator and vertical shutters. I think this is really quite an important point. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} (Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} only :- Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} points out that when the back deck has to be raised it is necessary to undo one side and then go round to the other side. This of course is very inconvenient and it is essential that it should be possible to operate both catches from either side. He also points out that the handles which operate these catches at present, are so situated that when getting in they are almost bound to catch anyones clothes and tear them. He also says that the body rattled very badly at the back although the locks were xxxxxxx properly fastened. On the dippers fitted to this car, there is no rotation of the beam as well as dip. We pointed out some little time ago that in our opinion any dipping device that did not provide for rotary movement as well, was out-of-date and I understood from you that they did do so. | ||
