RE SPORTS BODY-- PHANTOM.

Dear Sirs,
This to confirm our conversations during the writer's visit to your works yesterday.

Main Structure.
We are very pleased with the main structure.
It would be wise to take special precautions to prevent the rear door aftermost pillars from coming out at the top. Any movement of these due to the settling of the wood causes the gap between the door and the folding deck to become unsightly. We would suggest that you made sure that there is no danger of this.
The forward corners of the hinged tail side should be tied in by means of a flying stay.
The panel sides of the underneath portion of the tail should be extended up over the main body frame. This will make only one joint in the tail.
We are very anxious that the access to the rear seats when the hood is up shall be as facile as possible. We feel that you will have a serious difficulty in this respect if you retain the hinges for the tonneau above the deck. We do not think that the deck will go up nearly so far as you have indicated on your drawing when hinged as it is now. There is the screen folded on to the top of the deck and this is the first item to foul the hood. We would be far happier if you would create a virtual centre about 3.000 ins. below the top of the deck and the same amount forward of the present position. The space would then be sufficient for very easy access.

FRONT SCREEN.
We will repeat our remarks of a previous memo that it is important that all the screen pillars be put into sockets so the the glass may be pulled down on to the deck, and that the panes be not twisted. We append a suitable fixing for the side screen pillar.
The side flaps must have their friction clamps in line with the top and bottom channels in order to prevent the sloping channel from being subjected to torsion.
The screen wiper should be fitted as in the sketch herewith.

REAR SCREEN.
We approve, generally, of the model screen which we saw.
