M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Pierre-Louis Dreyfus.

With reference to the attached note from Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}, our recommendations are that we should fit a propeller shaft damper and light alloy drums to this car; these parts are at present available.

With regard to the engine unit, we should like to take advantage of this car to put in something which we think is better than standard production. We cannot yet recommend white metal, because our tests have not got far enough, but we do think if we fitted RR.56 big ends and rear main bearing, and improved oil grooves in the inter-mediate bearings, we should get some useful information from the running.

The car is at present off test, and is accepted, but is waiting for a larger petrol tank. It is anticipated that this will be finished in a fortnight. If RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} had an engine which he could allot to the job, we could hand over the necessary parts which we have available, watch the engine through test, and then Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} could transfer it to the chassis before it went away. We have the bearings ready.
