X.4357 GOSHAWK 11. BATTERY IGNITION.

In accordance with our conversation with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} during which it was suggested that the spigot for the high tension moulding might be made somewhat taper and certain modifications made to the locating pip for this moulding, we send herewith drawing No. Lec 1575 illustrating these two proposals.

(1) The moulding spigot on the aluminium casting forming the tower is shewn with .075 of parallel fit on-ly, the remainder being bevelled off to an angle of 10°. The idea is that it will be more easy to detach the moulding, particularly if it happens to have shrunk a little.

(2) The locating pip is shewn brought round to the front where it can be clearly seen by the operator; it is made of more noble proportions so that the moulding can-not well be clipped on in the wrong position, and it is made in such a shape that it should easily slip into it's recess even if the moulding is not correctly placed.
