Overheating complaints with Phantom III Mark V radiators and their subsequent replacement.

Bailey - Chief Engineer} We have received frequent complaints due to Phantom III Mark V.{VIENNA} Radiator becoming made up in the Matrix water ways and causing excessive over-heating. These complaints are being dealt with by supplying Cricklewood with a new Mark VI. Matrix complete with top and bottom tank. The old Mark. V.{VIENNA} taken from the Chassis are returned to the Works to be sent to Messrs. John Marston for what we understand is to be cleaned out and returned to the Works to be put in stock for re-issue. We would like to know what these re-conditioned Matrices are to be used for as the Mark V.{VIENNA} is now taken off Production and replaced with the latest type Mark VI. If not required for Production shall we dispose of them as scrap. If it is intended for these to be used up as replacements required on the earlier type fitted with Mark V.{VIENNA} is there not a possibility of a re-occurence and Works again being requested to supply a Mark VI. of the latest type, and the same trouble re-occuring indefinitely whilst these Matrices are used.
