10,000 MILES TEST - 18G4.

Originally we made arrangements to continue running this car through Christmas in France to complete the 10,000 miles.

We thought it might be policy to suggest that the car should be brought back before Christmas so that we could fit -

(1) An altered exhaust system to improve 'booming'.
(2) Complete set of low rating road springs on the lines of those we are about to standardise for the 40/50.
(3) A new luggage carrier to enable the spare wheel to be left in position when the carrier is in use.
(4) Stiffer brake drums to bring the car into line with the 40/50.

On consideration, however, it would appear to be advisable to complete the 10,000 miles before bringing the car back, since the carrier bits will take some little time to make, and it is essential to get the hypoid axle clear for future production.

We think it advisable to prepare and fit these pieces to 18-G4. for 10,000 miles when it comes back from N.W., as we urgently require 18-G4. with its saloon body at Derby for suspension and booming tests.
