X5840. Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre. To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} From A.B.H. 13/12/30. We received your telegrams yesterday: WINDSCREEN WIPER DESPATCHED TRY EFFECT OF RAISED WATER TEMPERATURE ON PETROL CONSUMPTION CHECK INEFFICIENCY OF NEW BRAKE LINING WHEN HOT FURTHER INFORMATION RE CLUTCH SLIP REQUIRED CARRY ON MILEAGE UNTIL HANCOCK RETURNS. I will carry out the Brake Tests as soon as the weather is suitable as at present the roads are wet. With reference to the clutch, there is no change in the behaviour since my letter of the 10th inst. The movement of the clutch pedal has remained at the original setting and it works quite freely, so I have not dismantled it to investigate the slip because of Mr Hancock's wish to check the amount of oil that has leaked into the clutch casing after 5000 miles. We are taking steps to raise the Water Temperature and will report to you in due course. A.S.E. W B Roberts | ||
